![]() I apologize at the lateness of this update! I have been extraordinary busy. Last week, Camp Joy’s official first camp started! There were three separate camps running at the same time. I was a counselor for Primary & Junior Camp 1, while others were assisting with Family Camp 1 and running a Church-Planters Conference. The Lord was good and gracious to give me strength each day. Throughout Monday morning, families settled in while buses and van loads of elementary children arrived. I had a grand cabin with nine boys full of energy. Because family camp was running at the same time, at one point I had 5 extra campers:P. Apparently, they were all told to join me! Either way, I had a blast and they did as well. Playing Hungry Hippoes, Hunt the Do Do Bird, and Extinction were just some the competitions that tired them out. It seemed that from Wednesday to Friday I spent most of my time in the nurse’s station. There, I was able to connect with several of my campers in ways I would not have been able to if they had not been injured. One boy, Jordan, who had cystic fibrosis had to take medicine everyday, three times a day. The Lord gave me an opportunity to give my testimony and pray for him. It was heartbreaking to hear him talk about his life, fears, and friends, yet through it all, see the overwhelming joy of Christ. God can use anybody that is willing to serve Him, whether or not your circumstances are perfect. In 1 Peter 2:9, God chose us and set us apart to share what how God miraculously changed us and allowed us to be used by Him. But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvelous light. Thank you for your prayers! In Christ, Joshua De Leon If you would like to sponsor me this summer go to: https://www.thegospelfund.com/projects/joshua-deleon-counseling-at-camp-joy#updates
