Today my heart is burdened.
It is heavy with a sadness that can be overwhelming at times.
Some things in life are just plain trust and faith in a God who we KNOW is in charge and is in complete control...yet we as humans struggle because WE can not change our circumstances.
We like to think we are in the driver's seat. We like to think we are in charge and the master of our tiny universe. BUT the truth is we are truly helpless in need of Someone else to take over and be in charge.
Do you ever feel like your life is out of control?
Think of it this way...
“Dinner’s not made; the house is a mess; the laundry is piled up; the baby is sick; the preacher is coming for supper tomorrow; it’s four in the afternoon, and I’m still in pajamas!”
"My sister is seriously ill with an unknown illness in a foreign country without real contact with her and I am in a complete utter state of helplessness to do anything for her or her beautiful little family...except pray"
Many are the plans in the mind of a man, but it is the purpose of the Lord that will stand.
For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.
Our God is in the heavens; he does all that he pleases.
I can not count all the times in my life that is seems my life is "out of control". If however, I believe God's Word to be true,and My Heavenly Father to be who He claims to be, my life IS "out of my control" and in the hand of the Almighty One who knows so much more than I.
I love the word picture of Isaiah 41:10,13 for this very reason. No matter what is going on in our lives, God says...
"Fear not, for I am with you;
be not dismayed, for I am your God;
I will strengthen you, I will help you,
I will uphold you with my righteous right hand".
For I, the Lord your God,
hold your right hand;
it is I who say to you, “Fear not,
I am the one who helps you.”
What a wonderful thing that God holds my hand!
God reached down in love and rescued Cassandra from her sin at the age of 21: changing her life, purpose, and focus forever.
