This evening around 4:30 I decided to go to Aldi for groceries. I was running out of food, so I made my menus for 2 weeks and left the house with the two little boys, Timothy and Stephen.
As I entered the store, a man with a jean jacket on followed me in and asked if I had a Corvet with my lights on... :) I laughed and said, "No! I drive a 12 passenger van!" I knew as soon as I spoke those words, I shouldn't have said that.
I continued on with my shopping filling one cart and overflowing to two large boxes. Each time I would round an isle, from the corner of my eye I kept seeing this same guy. I thought he must be working at Aldi because he did not have a cart or any groceries in his arms. Because he had a red tape measure hooked onto his belt, he looked like he worked there.
It took me a good hour to do all my shopping. As I was finishing up, I glanced around and this guy was still around. Now I am not a paranoid person, and I really do not think that everyman in the world is trying to hit on me. For crying out loud...I've had NINE KIDS and a belly to go with it! :)
Anyway, every once in a while I could see him looking at me. Finally, I got in the check out. By this time I was a little nervous and getting suspicious of this guy. He still did not have groceries.
As soon as I got in line. I watched him get a loaf of bread and get in line behind an older man BEHIND me. Now I was nervous. How come it took him an hour to get that bread?
I asked the cash register lady if that man worked at Aldi. When she said no, and saw my alarm, she told me after I bought my groceries to STAY in the store until he left with his bread.
My heart was beating hard...I stayed and watched him check out. He caught my eye and I turned away. I REALLY THINK HE HAD BEEN FOLLOWING ME IN THE STORE.
I waited about 5 minutes...then pushed the horn button on my keys...As my van honked and flashed its lights, Timothy, Stephen, and I walked out of Aldi to the van.
I was soooooo nervous, that I decided that I was just going to let my van make a ton of noise until I got all the groceries loaded and us in the car with the door locked!
I did not care who was annoyed by all my commotion...All the while my van was honking and flashing, I kept thinking if any guy was going to get me, he was going to do it with a lot of flashing and noise!! :)
I praise God for his protection and I am glad to be home!
But let all who take refuge in you rejoice; let them ever sing for joy, and spread your protection over them, that those who love your name may exult in you.
