Awkward and Awesome | Spring!!!!!

Spring is here (almost)!!!!!!!! Technically we have to wait until March 21, but close enough:) Although I like winter, one must only have it in moderation. Spring, Summer, and most of Fall is perfect at all times though
I fully planned on writing this all last week, but our basement sorta flooded. Soo, here goes:
Awkward:
  • On the way to Wisconsin for the Victory Conference and we saw some plain white tombstones covering a field and thought they might be from a war. Everyone was trying to think of all the wars they could possibly be from; "The Revolutionary War? The War of 1812? World War 2!" Yes, World War 2 was fought in America;)
  • At the first hint of sunshine that's just a tad warm, I immediately put laundry on the clothesline. It sure is cold when you're hanging wet, heavy clothes on the line at 7:00 in the morning.
  • The font keeps changing....
  • When people think you're Mennonite.
  • Crawling on your hands and knees with a rag and Windex wiping the dried mud off the pews at church. My sister was doing it too, so it wasn't too weird:)
  • When the basement floods so you use up every single towel and blanket that can hold water. We had three shop vacs going (thanks to everyone who let us use theirs!! I don't think we gave them back yet though...) We also had the soaking wet towels\blankets being spun in the washer to get them at least dry-er than they were. Serenity, Mercy, and I were wringing towels out by hand into the mop bucket, and we also had towels hanging on the fence to dry. It did eventually slow down, but then we realized that our family had church cleaning duty. So that was a long day;)
  • When you're cleaning the church and the vacuum plug starts to smoke. I think the outlet got burned up.

Awesome:
  • That we actually got to go to the Victory Conference at Falls Baptist Church in Wisconsin. We met a lot of people we already knew; people from camp and also one family from a home school convention. And we also made a lot of new friends:)
  • Spring is coming!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  • SAT testing is coming up!!! I love SAT tests. My mom is a certified tester so she is giving it to home schoolers from first grade to 12th grade i think.
  • Teen Choir. We're learning all the songs and memorizing all our lines for the Reader's Theater!! Only eight more weeks of practice until the graduation and only half that before we perform at the Beckett House, so time to speed-memorize!
  • Our basement isn't wet anymore! Though it smells quite wet:)
  • Amarisa is starting to do something that you can't exactly call crawling, but she sorta scoots. She actually scooted forwards today! I think she decided to skip the whole sitting up stage;)
  • Josh is coming home on Sunday for Spring Break!! Just in time for Melody's 17th birthday and the Discipleship Conference.;)
  • I get to go to Camp Joy this summer!! (I know I already said that, but it's so EXCITING!!!)
Tis all for this week! Happy happy Spring!!!!
