It has been a great two weeks here at Camp Joy! The Lord has been working mightily. At staff meetings we (the staff) receive feedback on the hearts of the people who come to the camp. It was great to hear how God used Camp Joy in their hearts. This week we start teen camp number one.
It has been fun working in the kitchen. I learned how to do a lot of things. All the kitchen girls are really nice. It is nice to see girls from all different backgrounds coming to serve the Lord together. I’ve been reading Romans in my devotionals and going verse by verse. I learned a lot this way. This has been helpful on the tone of my speech, because I know I have trouble in that area.
Please pray for me, because I can’t do this without God.

Thank you so much for your support! Working here at Camp Joy has been a lot of fun, but also a lot of hard work. In housekeeping, we keep everything neat and clean, we run the shops, and I even fold some laundry! I was well prepared for that.
We have gone through two weeks already; The Armed Forces Baptist Missions and The Family Camp. This coming week is the first Teen Camp, so please pray that it all goes well.
As the summer continues, there are many other things to pray for. First, pray that the Lord would work and continue to work in my heart as well as in the other staff and campers. Also strength, lots of strength!
Thank you so much again.

Wow! It seems like forever ago since I left for camp! These have been two very exciting and busy weeks. The first week was a military mission conference for two different groups. This last week was family camp and I enjoyed meeting all the families!
I also run the craft shop in the afternoons so that was always very exciting. My job is photography and video! Miss Natalie is an awesome teacher and we have fun working together! I basically run around with the cameras and take whatever I need, then at the end of the week we show campers the week-in-review. So far I’ve helped make two videos and I think I’m getting the hang of it.
The preaching has been amazing! Pastor Moore (the new camp director) preached on elite love. It reminded me that God worked everything out for me to serve at Camp Joy this summer and that my goal should be to bring honor and glory to Him by serving and helping in any way possible, but with love. One of the things Mrs. Moore mentioned was getting out of our circle of people, like us going to different people that are different and showing them love.
I have made so many new friends here. Thanks for praying for me!

We—Autumn, Melody, and Carissa De Leon—have been given the opportunity to serve the Lord this summer as part of the Camp Joy Summer Ministry Team.
We are the oldest daughters to Michael and Cassandra De Leon. Our dad is a Pastor of Lighthouse Baptist Church in Rural Ohio.
Camp Joy is located in southern Wisconsin and operates year-round as a youth camp and conference center.
Every summer many hundreds of young people have their hearts challenged and lives changed as a result of this ministry. We know that this will be a great summer for us.
The first week in June will be a week of training and this will be followed by several weeks of putting our training into practice. Every day, we will be able to have a spiritual impact on lives and personally profit from the preaching of some of America’s greatest preachers.
This will be a summer when our faith is tested. We know that serving at Camp Joy will be physically and spiritually draining. We will also have to trust the Lord to provide for our finances, considering Autumn is looking forward to her Freshman year at college this fall, and Carissa and Melody will be taking Online College classes in the fall.
Camp Joy is a faith ministry. We are not payed an income from the camp. Income for the camp comes from the gifts of God’s people. Camp Joy has requested that we encourage people to support us this summer by sending donations for our summer support to Camp Joy.
We need your help in two ways. First of all, would you be kind enough to remember to pray for us this summer, that the Lord would give us the strength and wisdom for our ministry and make it spiritually profitable in the lives of the young people to whom we will minister?
Secondly, would you be able to be a part of our Support Team by sending a monetary gift to Camp Joy?
Simply indicate what you would like to do so and mail it to Camp Joy. (Camp Joy, W7725 Kettle Moraine Dr, Whitewater, WI 53190)
All donations are tax deductible and you will receive a receipt from Camp Joy for them. If you will do this, you will have a unique part in the ministry of Camp Joy.
We greatly appreciate whatever you are able to do. We will be posting an update to each of our Summer Support Team Members on www.walkingworthy.org and through email throughout the summer with prayer requests and praises so that you can share in the spiritual needs, prayer requests and blessings of this ministry. We expect it to be a summer that we will never forget.
Thank you so much for your interest and concern.
